I planned two hours tops the at Currumbin Wildlife

I planned two hours tops the at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland, Australia.

I stayed for six.

And honestly, the animals had every right to keep me that long 🙈

Saw a baby kangaroo being fed by its mother. A real-life Tasmanian Devil 😳(yes, he is real, and yes, he has energy). A koala that was cute, fluffy, and absolutely not as heavy as I expected. A Bin Chicken living its best unbothered life. Birds of prey with more precision and authority than most leaders I know. And me, checking off ✅ a genuine bucket list moment by petting a kangaroo with my whole heart.

But here is what six hours in a wildlife sanctuary quietly taught me:

Every single animal showed up exactly as it was built to be. The turtle did not apologize for being slow. The emu did not explain why it was walking alone. The koala did not perform rest; it just rested. The birds of prey did not announce their wingspan. They just flew.

That is the kind of leadership most of us are still working toward. Fully yourself. No performance. No apology. Just showing up authentically as what you were made to be.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary also has a fully operational vet hospital on site, where injured and sick wildlife receive care before being released back into the wild.

Watching a pelican and a turtle being treated with so much care reminded me that the best communities, and the best teams, take care of the ones in their midst who need it most.

Six hours. Zero regrets. Australia, you absolutely got me 🩷🩷❤️❤️🩵🩵
