George Santos hid in plain sight until The New York Times exposé. As the thick curtain around him begins to unravel, it becomes clear that underneath that glossy veneer of success is a giant web of lies and deception. George Santos’s reputation as congressman-elect, as it turns out, indicates that there’s far more to his bio than meets the eye.
It appears most of his bio where a fabrication of his imagination and in the lead to his inauguration in January 2023 the bigger question is why the defeaning silence from the G.O.P. leadership.
Santos has made statements to ensure he doesn’t get challenged by announcing his plans to vote Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House a vote that is desperately needed. Republican leaders are clearly not ready for a special election for a swing seat.
The truth is everything Santos has said is a lot more than an embellishment including his claim to being a “proud American Jew” raising the ire of the Republican Jewish Coalition.
Santos has now admitted to lying about almost everything from his heritage, college education, career and business to boot there’s the other matter on his questionable finances.
Amid calls from constituents and some democrats for Santos to resign he maintains “I’m not a fraud.” It is not expected that he’ll face any consequences at this time.
More to come on this breaking news.
